THE ORIGINS
The origins of the complex date back to the beginning of the sixteenth century, when it included an oil mill and a mill powered by water from the nearby river. In the following 4 centuries, the property expanded with the addition of a stately home and a factory with chimney (still present).

In the 70s the Villa was inhabited by Cesare Garboli, writer and literary critic, and the complex became a meeting point for the protagonists of the culture and literature of the 20th century, who, finding inspiration here, gratefully cited it in their works.
